High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipes
Manufactured from premium PE100 resin, our HDPE pipes deliver leak-free, corrosion-resistant piping for water supply, drainage, gas and industrial networks — built to perform for over 50 years, above or below ground.
Built to carry water, gas and pressure — for decades
Star Polymer HDPE Pipes are manufactured from high-density polyethylene using virgin PE100-grade resin on modern extrusion lines. Fusion-welded joints give the pipeline a monolithic, leak-free bore across its entire length, making it the trusted choice for pressure and gravity piping across infrastructure, utility and industrial projects.
High pressure resistance
Corrosion & chemical resistant
Flexible & impact resistant
Leak-free fusion joints
50+ year service life
Applications
- Municipal & potable water supply
- Sewerage & drainage networks
- Irrigation & agriculture
- Gas distribution networks
- Industrial process piping
- Mining & dewatering lines
Available Configurations
- Plain HDPE pressure pipe
- HDPE water pipe — blue stripe
- HDPE gas pipe — yellow stripe
- HDPE pipe coils (small diameters)
- Straight lengths (large diameters)
Colour Coding
Every HDPE pipe is produced in solid black — for maximum UV and weather resistance — with a co-extruded stripe along its length so crews can identify the service line at a glance, on site or in a trench.
Specifications & Standards
Every batch of HDPE pipe is produced and tested against the following international standards for material, pressure and dimensional performance.
Pipe Advantages
HDPE gives project teams a pipeline that installs faster, joins without leaks, and keeps performing long after rigid materials would have failed.
Leak-free, fully fused joints
Flexible — fewer fittings needed
Corrosion & scale-free bore
Smooth interior — low friction loss
Lightweight — easy handling & transport
Long design life — 50+ years
UV, abrasion & impact resistant
Cost-efficient, faster installation
Material & Pressure Rating
Material Properties
Manufactured from virgin PE100 (and PE100-RC for slit-trench / rock-resistant applications) resin, fully meeting the material requirements of ISO 4427 and DIN 8075. The compound is UV-stabilised with carbon black for long-term outdoor and buried performance.
SDR & Pressure Class
Pipe wall thickness is defined by the Standard Dimension Ratio (SDR) — the ratio of outside diameter to wall thickness. A lower SDR means a thicker wall and a higher pressure rating, letting you match the pipe to the exact working pressure of your network.
Jointing Methods
HDPE pipes can be joined using several proven methods, chosen to suit the diameter, pressure class and site conditions.
Butt Fusion
Heat-fused ends for a permanent, full-strength joint
Electrofusion
Fitting-embedded coil fuses the joint from inside
Flanged
Bolted connection to valves, pumps & metal pipework
Compression
Mechanical fitting for smaller-diameter branch lines
PE100 — Built for Pressure
PE100 is the highest-strength polyethylene grade in common use for pressure piping, giving a higher Minimum Required Strength (MRS) than PE80 or PE63 resins. That means a PE100 pipe can carry the same working pressure with a thinner wall — more bore, less material, and a lower installed cost for the same performance.
- Higher long-term hydrostatic strength (ISO 9080)
- Thinner wall for the same pressure rating
- Greater flow bore per outside diameter
- Proven 50-year design life at rated pressure
